• Escape from predators – just as Maryland snakes are predators to some animals, they are also preys to some other creatures too such as the hawks. A rise in the number of predators in their natural home may act as a push forcing the snakes to migrate to environments just near human homes seeking security.

Baltimore snakes naturally live in areas where they can easily access food for themselves and where they are not a subject to threat from human activities. It is under extreme circumstances such as inadequacy of food and others that may make the snakes migrate to urban areas. In general, there are more snakes in world areas than in urban areas.
